Motor protection is applied to a.c. motors of all types and sizes.
Different motor types have a wide range of operating characteristics, the motor protection must have protection functions and setting ranges to adapt to these characteristics.
The protection is used to detect abnormal motor running conditions such as stator thermal overload, rotor thermal overload, and short circuits.
