Efficient and reliable electrical generators from 25 to 2,235 MVA
Siemens offers a comprehensive portfolio of generators for the 25 to 2,235 MVA power range. They achieve efficiency levels of up to 99 percent. The design of our generators, benefits from more than 150 years of experience in development and production since Werner von Siemens invented the electrical generator in 1866. Generators of our SGenTM series are operating around the globe with an installed fleet of more than 2,500 units. Assembly and testing specialists accompany our generators from the planning stage to the destination, where they put them into operation for you. In addition, our specialists service generators from around the world and perform upgrades and repairs – even for components from other manufacturers.
Air-cooled generators are particularly compact and achieve world-class efficiency levels of up to 98.9 percent. They are suitable for gas and steam turbines in power plant operations as well as in industrial, oil and gas and synchronous condenser applications.
Siemens latest product innovation is combining air cooling and water cooling. Pressurized air-cooled generators are replacing indirect hydrogen-cooled machines to significantly reduce plant complexity while achieving efficiency levels comparable to indirect hydrogen-cooled generators.
Hydrogen-cooled generators feature high performance and a long life. The hydrogen provides for low frictional losses and increases performance as well as efficiency. The SGen-2000H series achieves an output of up to 600 MVA and operates at efficiency levels as high as 99 percent.
