The purpose of this project was to perform engineering design work required to provide a cost estimate based on an end user flow rate and composition, dealing with a near offshore production of stranded gas fields, liquefaction and marine transport to a site within a one or two day sail for regasification. The pre-FEED execution was carried out entirely in Houston by the Siemens Upstream team. Support was provided by various Siemens groups where our product solutions were quoted (compression, turbine drive power generation, variable frequency drives, integrated control/safety/power management system, water treatment and potable and fresh water).
Project Outcome
The purpose of this project was to enhance the safety systems at the facilities via consolidation into a single facility. Existing equipment from one salt-dome storage facility was re-located to the other. A new 69 kV electrical feed (coordinated with the utility company) was required to operate the pumps. There was ample space at the new storage facility to construct a new manifold and piperack, move, refurbish and install eight pumps leading from one facility to the other, install a new maintenance flare system (flare, KO drum and pump), upgrade the instrument air system (new compressor and receiver) and install a new analyzer building, pump control building and a substation and transformer.
Project Outcome
The development space for this project was a 6,500 km2 area that comprises a number of separate hydrocarbon deposits located in Algeria. The development consisted of fields within two blocks. The main objective of this study was to identify the most appropriate course of action for the development of the blocks to maximize value for this company. In order to meet this objective, the study selected the optimum surface facilities.
