What is the latest version of UltraPIPE?
UltraPIPE 10.6 was released in February 2010 and is currently offered to existing customers with current maintenance and support accounts as a free upgrade.
How can I get UltraPIPE training?
UltraPIPE training is offered two ways:
- Onsite, for a maximum of ten (10) people
- A general admissions class held at the Siemens Houston office quarterly

What are the benefits of a Maintenance & Support Services agreement?
An M&S Services agreement provides several support structures:
- Technical Support
- We are ready to respond to any questions related to the functionality of our software products by email (support.ultrapipe@siemens.com) or telephone (713-570-1200) during business hours (8-5 CST). - Software Enhancements
- Minor releases of UltraPIPE are automatically shipped to those customers who maintain a valid maintenance and support agreement. Minor releases typically deliver additional functionality updates, bundled with all error correction patches issued since the last major or minor release.
- Our technical support staff is available to assist our customers with the installation of any Minor or Patch Releases. - System Guarantee
- Siemens guarantees that UltraPIPE will perform in accordance with product functionality as stated in the UltraPIPE User Manual. Further, UltraPIPE will remain compatible with all approved client and server operating systems and advertised companion software applications (such as Microsoft Word/Excel, AutoCAD, Microstation, etc.) as defined in the UltraPIPE User Manual. If necessary, compatibility with new releases of these programs will be provided via a minor release of the UltraPIPE software, typically within two to four months of release of the new version of the companion software.
What types of equipment can I manage with UltraPIPE?
Any asset, fixed equipment, rotating equipment, relief device or instrumentation can be tracked in UltraPIPE. Many pieces of equipment can even be broken down into sub-components to better develop a complete inspection plan, such as Shell and Tube sides for exchangers.
What specific equipment information does UltraPIPE manage/track?
UltraPIPE can manage:
- Basic asset information such as tag number, unit name, type, description, etc.
- Equipment design and operating conditions
- Materials of construction
- TML/CML locations, nominal thickness, T-Min, etc.
- UT inspection thickness readings and due dates
- Schedules for all recurring inspections
- All documentation: inspection templates, finalized reports, checklists, pictures, U1As, etc.
- Recommendations from start to finish
- Repairs made to any equipment in the database
- Inspection drawings
- Construction data
What are my database options for UltraPIPE?
UltraPIPE is configured to use Microsoft Access or SQL Server databases. These options can be mixed as needed. UltraPIPE also allows for users to create as many unique databases as they wish.
Can I easily migrate spreadsheet data into UltraPIPE?
Yes. UltraPIPE has two separate spreadsheet import utilities to transfer your equipment quickly and accurately from existing data locations. In addition, Siemens can provide experienced and skilled resources to assist you in any data collection, manipulation, clean-up, organization, transfer and/or implementation you require.
Can Siemens manage my database(s) for me?
Yes, Siemens can provide experienced resources to manage your existing database(s) or start a new implementation from scratch and manage it for as long as you need to get your people trained and up to speed should you want them to ever take over. In addition, we can review your database or help you with database clean-up or audits.
