Our air pollution control technologies effectively control particulate matter, sulfur dioxide and other acid gas emissions from coal-fired power plants and industrial processes to meet increasingly stringent environmental regulations.

Our Siemens compression portfolio comprises turbomachinery best suited for high-efficiency CO₂ compression as required in power plants with integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC), oxyfuel or post-combustion capture technology. Our preferred solution for this duty is the integrally geared compressor type (STC-GV). A conventional single-shaft solution with single-shaft compressor types (STC-SH/SV) is feasible as well.

Together with the CO₂ compressor Siemens has world leading compression technology for air separation units used in oxyfuel and IGCC plants, as main air compressors (MAC) and booster air compressors (BAC) as well as oxygen and nitrogen compressors.
