The SGT5-2000E is characterized by extremely good rapid startup properties, very high reliability and availability as well as lenient fuel quality requirements. Since 1981 over 198 units have been installed world-wide. Together the fleet has more than 12.000.000 EOH. This gas turbine underwent several design versions over this time.

Siemens offers a Fuel Conversion upgrade designed to enable the plant to use many types and grades of natural gas and liquid fuels.
The Fuel Conversion upgrade is designed to give you operational flexibility to use a range of both gas and liquid fuel, thus enabling you to benefit from different fuels, whether it is the reduced emissions from using a high-grade fuel or the economy of a lower grade fuel.
A Fuel Conversion can include the following benefits:

Siemens offers a Fuel Conversion feasibility study to determine the fuel supply and its further use.
Fuel Conversion may require a hardware retrofit based on the current unit configuration.
Siemens is experienced in supplying, installing and commissioning of unloading facility or pipeline interface, fuel handling and storage facilities and the auxiliaries and gas turbine combustion system.
