Our proven SGT5-4000F is characterized by high performance, low power generating costs, long intervals between major inspections and an easy-to-service design. Since 1996 over 160 units have been installed world-wide. Together the fleet has more than 4.900.000 EOH.
Over the last years the worldwide demand for power has been growing continuously. Siemens anticipated and reacted to the needs of the market by further developing its simple and combined cycle power plant technologies for the SGT5-4000F and providing a full range of performance enhancements.
To help you make your operating assets more profitable, we offer the latest technologies to enhance your operating plant performance, reliability, availability and flexibility.
A growing number of Siemens gas turbine customers are requesting the ability to operate at lower loads, while still achieving the carbon monoxide emission requirements. Additionally, for combined cycle power plants, this requirement is bounded by the wish to keep the exhaust gas temperature at a high level which allows the steam turbine to be in operation with the highest efficiency possible.
Siemens Energy offers the Turn Down upgrade as an innovative solution designed to further reduce the compressor mass flow at part load and therefore to reduce the minimum part load where carbon monoxide emission requirements can be met.
The implementation of the Turn Down upgrade is designed to help increase efficiency for combined cycle plants in part load operation with a reduced minimum part load with lower carbon monoxide emissions and almost constant gas turbine outlet temperature. The resulting expanded operating range is achieved by decreasing the compressor mass flow with increasing the adjustable range of the inlet guide. The actual minimum part load depends on your site specific conditions and the desired carbon monoxide emission level.
The Turn Down upgrade can include the following benefits:
The Turn Down upgrade can be combined with other modernizations such as the Compressor Mass Flow Increase or the Hydraulic Clearance Optimization.
The Turn Down upgrade is state-of-the-art for new Siemens gas turbines.
The Turn Down upgrade from Siemens Energy is just one of the many innovative packages available.
The scope of this upgrade includes:
We recommend a major outage for implementing the Turn Down upgrade. We offer a full range of field service capabilities to help you manage your maintenance and outage schedules.
Since 2003 (first time application) more than 70 units are in operation worldwide with the Turn Down upgrade and have logged more than 900,000 equivalent operating hours (EOH).
Further five units of frame type SGT5-4000F (V94.3A) have been retrofitted worldwide: *
